What is Night to Shine?
Night to Shine (Friday, February 12, 2027) is a complimentary event for people with special needs hosted by local churches around the world. The event is open to anyone living with disabilities, ages 14 and older. Each event is unique to its location, but some cornerstone activities included across all of them are a red carpet entrance complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup, shoeshines, karaoke, gifts, a catered dinner, a Sensory Room, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, dancing, and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honored as a King or a Queen – the way God sees them each and every day.
How to Volunteer at Night to Shine?
Night to Shine requires the help of thousands of volunteers across the globe and is a wonderful way to connect with and serve your community of people with special needs! From serving as a guest’s buddy or member of the red carpet paparazzi, to keeping the enthusiasm up on the dance floor or serving food, there is something for everyone.
To volunteer at Night to Shine, you can register and receive a background check. Once registered, we will provide you with the necessary information and training you will need to serve at Night to Shine on either of our training days on Saturday, February 6 @ 9 am or Tuesday, February 9 @ 6:30 pm.

What will I do at Night to Shine?
Night to Shine has so much to offer. First, you will arrive at Fellowship Church and get in line in front of church. Doors will open promptly at 5:30 pm and you will proceed to get signed in and receive your nametag. Next, you will go to the Buddy Pairing area to be assigned a buddy. If you already have a buddy, you will skip this station. Flowers and boutonnieres are given to each participant. Then, you will get to walk the red carpet as the paparazzi cheers and encourages. After you make your way down the red carpet, you will be crowned King or Queen of the prom before going into the main Worship Center for dinner (with your buddy) and dancing.
Other activities available after Red Carpet is done: Prom Pictures, Photo Booth, Karaoke, Bracelet Making, Face Painting and Tattoos, Games, Cotton Candy, Shoe Shine, Luke 5 Adventures hikes.
Do I need a buddy?
Yes, per the Tim Tebow Foundation, every participant must have a 1 on 1 buddy for the night.
Who will be my buddy?
We are happy to provide a buddy from our volunteer pool (who are required to do a background check). You may also choose to provide your own buddy. This person MUST be 16 years old and sign up through our volunteer link. This person will also be required to submit to a background check and provide references. Each participant may only have 1 buddy.
Can my parent or caregiver come to prom with me?
Your parent or caregiver may sign up to be your buddy. They can do this at the volunteer link. You can only have 1 buddy.
The Event is full. What should I do?
If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email NTS@fcascension.com. Include your name and phone number. There are also other local churches hosting the event that may have availability. Refer to the Night to Shine website for a complete list.
What will I wear?
Prom attire is suggested. For females, long or short dresses, are acceptable. Males can wear a tux, suit, or dress pants and shirt.
Do you help with prom attire?
We host a Shopping Day on Saturday, December 5. We have a large inventory of dresses, suits, and formal attire that guests are welcome to try on. We have seamstresses on hand who volunteer their time to help with alterations. All attire and alterations are free.
What will my parents do while I participate in prom?
Parents are invited to Parc 73 (event venue next door to Fellowship Church) to participate in our Parent Room. We provide (free of charge) entertainment, food, drinks, and giveaways.

The evening is an occasion that each Night to Shine King and Queen will remember for a lifetime, and that he or she looks forward to each year. However, we cannot host this event without our team of over 600 volunteers or without your financial assistance to make Night to Shine possible. Volunteer at NTS Shopping Day
Our Kings and Queens want to look awesome for the Prom. We would love for you to sign up and volunteer to help them pick the perfect outfit. This shopping day is on Saturday, Dec. 6th from 10 am-1 pm in our NextGen Worship space. We will also be accepting donations of men’s suits and women’s formal dresses, specifically plus size. Donations can be dropped off at The Fellowship Center (labeled for NTS) or at FC.
